BrandBoards was founded because the traditional process for placing live-event advertising was broken. A central marketplace was missing and, in our high-tech world, a relatively easy solution seemed like a slam dunk.

We were brought on to develop their front-end WordPress marketing website, some supporting marketing materials, and to standardize the back-end program creative execution. Click here to visit their site.

$5 Slow Food Challenge

A few of us decided to take the Slow Food $5 Challenge. We had a great dinner of figs & cheese, pasta, salad, and dessert [organic goat fudge!]. Garden grown tomatoes helped greatly in keeping the cost down. It was delicious and easy. We spent $4.79 per person. More photos here.

We had the pleasure of designing their WordPress website. The real estate world is constantly changing so the client wanted an easy-to-use site that could be updated without hassle.

Extend Health Connections Community Website by DK Design

We love seniors.

The Extend Health Connections website just went live. It’s a community site for seniors where they can take an active role in managing their retirement. Visitors are encouraged to engage with other retirees & help make the site a fun and informative place.

The goal is to build a community where people can discuss the myriad of options, challenges, and experiences of aging. Extend Health did a good amount of research and surveys that helped us determine the best way to present the information…and make it very easy to participate.

We found that, although there is a large selection of senior information sites, the lack of community participation and a meaningful location for sharing was missing. To fix this we determined that it must be easy to navigate, have a type size toggling device, and give the viewer ample opportunities to participate. Users can submit stories, comment on stories, comment on the whole site itself, and jump to social networking.

Locke Hill Elementary NISD Solar Car Race Team Tshirts

We were more than happy to design t-shirts for the kids at Locke Hill Elementary school for their annual NISD Solar Car Race. The kids design and race their own solar cars and then 50 elementary school teams – who spent weeks building miniature solar-powered cars – competed at the CPS Energy 14th Annual Texas Solar Car Races.

The children use recycled materials to build the cars, often using old CDs for the wheels.

Sponsored by CPS Energy and Northside ISD, the Texas Solar Car Races are the brainchild of NISD Trustee Bobby Blount, who founded the event to give students hands-on lessons in teamwork, renewable energy, problem-solving, and science and engineering.
