West Coast Green

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom welcomed the West Coast Green Conference held this weekend at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. It’s considered the premier residential green building conference in the country.

The goal is to set in motion a full-scale market conversion, infusing commerce with green values, and generating public policy that makes enlivening living spaces a basic birthright available to everyone. Striking a chord that resonates to all areas of building, architecture, interior design, and landscaping.

A few of our favorites were there. Michelle Kaufman Design and XtremeHomes designed and built the mkLotus prefab home in the civic center courtyard in collaboration with Late Afternoon Garden Design and Sunset Magazine. A number of other contributors finished the interior design to make this a favorite exhibit at the show.
